Another look at some of the recent cases to go before magistrates at Llanelli court.

A LLANDYBIE man has been remanded on bail awaiting trial for an alleged assault.

Gareth Beynon, aged 41, of 40 Dol Y Dderwen, denies assaulting by beating Alison Sandra Beynon in Ammanford on August 28.

Llanelli magistrates remanded him on conditional bail and adjourned for a trial to be held on October 24.

LLANELLI Magistrates have fined an Ammanford man £265 and endorsed his licence with four points after he admitted to driving 44 miles per hour on 30 mile restricted road.

Berian Allcock, aged 43, of Heol Ddu, broke the limit on Carmarthen Road, Forest, in February. He must also pay £85 costs and a £27 victim surcharge.

NOT BELTING up has cost two motorists a £80 fine.

Gian Francesco Barone, aged 50, of 120 Waterloo Road, Penygroes, admitted he drove without a seat belt in Capel Hendre in March. Llanelli Magistrates also ordered him to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

And Kirsty Thomas, aged 22, of 49 High Street, Tumble, admitted she rode in a rear seat of a vehicle that was travelling through Ammanford in March. She was also fined £80 with a £20 victim surcharge.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined two drivers for breaking the speed limit.

Matthew David Carlson, aged 31, of 51, Caeglas, Cross Hands, was fined £200, with £85 costs, a £20 victim surcharge and three penalty points after he was found guilty of driving at 65 miles per hour on the 50 mile per hour A40 at Pont y Fenni in December last year. He made no plea and was not in court.

Robert Dean Edwards, aged 32, of 61 Rhosnewydd, Tumble, admitted he had driven 53 miles per hour on a 30-limited road in Drefach in February. He was fined £200 with £85 cost and a £20 victim surcharge and was also issued four penalty points.

A BETWS man has been fined £80 with a £20 victim surcharge for driving without a seat belt on.

Joseph Pritchard, aged 27, of 4 Maerdy Road, admitted the offence that happened on Station Road, Ammanford, on March 15, to Llanelli magistrates.

A SWANSEA VALLEY woman who broke the speed limit on a 30 mile per hour road, has been fined £80 and her licence endorsed with three points after she admitted the offence to Llanelli magistrates.

Kelly Gayle Williams, aged 44, of 21 Dolfain, Ystradgynlais, drove at 35 miles per hour on the B4599, Brecon Road, Ystradgynlais, on February 6. She was also ordered to pay £85 cost and a £20 victim surcharge.

A GORSLAS man has been banned from driving for six months after he drove with no insurance.

Richard James Williams, aged 28, of Plas Bach, 5A Cross Hands Road, was convicted in his absence by Llanelli magistrates following the offence, which happened in January at Pontyates.

He must also pay a £600 fine with £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge. No plea was entered.
