Llandovery and District Carnival presented cheques totally £2,222 to various good causes at a special event held at the Kings Arms.

The grateful recipients were Llandovery Blind Association, Llandovery Luncheon Club (WRVS), Llandovery Young Farmers, Cylch Meithrin, Lluest Horse and Pony Trust, Llandovery Scouts, Llandovery Brownies, Llandovery Rainbows, Friends of Llandovery Station, Llandovery Town Criers, Llandovery History Society, Llandovery Hospital League of Friends X Ray appeal and LATCH. The committee also took the opportunity to introduce their new mascot LADDIE, to the public. LADDIE will be featuring at forthcoming events.

The carnival this year proved an excellent day, due to both the sunshine and the attractions present.

The event was a resounding success thanks to the people of Llandovery and the surrounding villages, and their presence allowed for the donations.

Organisers are already asking how they can top the event next year. All suggestions will be considered and the committee can be contacted via Facebook.

The committee would like to express special thanks to Karen Kings Arms for her help throughout the year as well as excellent food at the presentation, Jess Morgan for organising the children's parties, Joe and Sandra for finding the judges, the Town Council and Rotary Club for their continued support, the Queens for being so lovely on the parade, all the dresser-uppers for making the carnival what it is and special thanks to Noel, Roger, Phil, Tina, Steph, John Plug, June, Gareth and Poogie for their continued free help to make the day happen.
