Amman United will be preparing for the Rugby World Cup in top class company as they welcome S4C’s all-star team to Glanaman.

The club will host the final leg of the channel’s pre-tournament roadshow on September 10 and, along with a training session from two former Wales internationals, will present an evening of entertainment.

S4C presenter Gareth Roberts will compere the evening, which will include a Q&A session and a rugby quiz - with Six Nations 2016 match tickets up for grabs.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust.

The roadshow will see S4C taking six former internationals - Gwyn Jones, Arthur Emyr, Dwayne Peel, Dafydd Jones, Deiniol Jones and Glanaman’s very own Shane Williams – to five clubs around the country ahead of the tournament kick-off.

The star players are all part of the channel’s Rugby World Cup punditry team.

Dennis Gethin, Chairman of the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, and President of the Welsh Rugby Union, said: “We're very pleased and grateful to S4C for holding this tour to raise awareness and money in aid of the charity.

“It will certainly be a boost for the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust which now offers support to over 30 people, including two women players, and their families.

“Despite being injured on the pitch, some severely, I can say with hand on heart that nobody supports rugby more than them, and I know that they can't wait for the start of the Rugby World Cup."

The Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust was set up in 1972 to support players who have been severely injured playing rugby in Wales, and their families.

S4C's Sports Editor, Sue Butler, said: "S4C supports Welsh rugby at all levels, from grassroots to the international side, and we're very pleased to be providing live coverage of the most important competition in the rugby calendar, the Rugby World Cup.

“This tour will take us to the heartlands of the fans, to look forward to the competition but also to support a truly worthwhile cause in the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, which we are very proud to be involved with."

The event is open for all and starts at 7.15pm.

S4C's Rugby World Cup coverage starts on September 18, with the first game between England and Fiji live from Twickenham, followed by Wales' opening match of their campaign against Uruguay on September 20.

S4C will broadcast each Wales match live, and whatever their fate may be, the channel will also show one quarter-final, a semi-final, and the bronze final, as well as the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final live.
