A round-up of cases from Llanelli magistrates today, Thursday, September 3.

The case against a 63-year-old Drefach woman accused of shoplifting jewellery and make-up valued at £95.05 from a Debenhams store has been withdrawn.

Prosecutors at Llanelli magistrates court offered no evidence against Wendy Patricia Hudson, of 41 Nantydderwen, in relation to the incident on July 22.

The case was dismissed.

A 31-year-old former Llangadog man has denied any involvement in a burglary at Coleg Sir Gar's Pibwrlwyd campus.

Michael Patrick Byard, previously of 32 Rhyd y Fro but now living at a property in Carmarthen, denied being in the college's catering block where an attempt was made to open the till ion the reception area some time overnight between March 26 and 27.

Byard entered a not guilty plea to a charge of burglary with intent to steal.

He elected to face trial before a jury at Swansea Crown Court.

He is due to appear in Swansea on September 11.

Llanelli magistrates court has dismissed the case against a 30-year-old Lower Brynaman man accused of missing a drug assessment test previously ordered by the court.

Andrew Francis Henry McGuire, of 40 Maes y Glyn, had been accused of failing to attend an initial assessment meeting on July 22 in relation to the use of cocaine.

However, prosecutors offered no evidence and the case was withdrawn.

The case against a Llandybie man accused of assault and using threatening behaviour has been adjourned.

Joshua George McNamara, of 108 Blaenau Road, has been accused of punching Daniel Rhys Davies in the face during an incident at the Cottage Inn in Ammanford on June 12.

The 21-year-old was unable to attend the hearing.

The case was adjourned until September 18.
