Fast-food giant McDonald's has dismissed rumours that it plans to open an outlet in Ammanford in 2016.

Stories had begun to circulate that the burger chain was in advanced talks to open a branch in Quay Street.

However, a spokesman for the company ruled out any move.

“We don’t have any plans for Ammanford at this time,” the spokesman told the Guardian.

McDonald's has recently taken over the food outlet at Pont Abraham services and is due to open in November.
