MOTORISTS have been asked to take extra caution on the roads as Carmarthenshire Council undertake it's annual programme of road surfacing works this week.

The maintenance work are planned to start in the Ammanford and Cross Hands area on Monday, August 15 and are expected to be finished by Friday, August 19.

High Street in Ammanford from its junction with Heol Wallasey will be closed from Tuesday, August 16 for the work while long delays and disruption to traffic are expected on Llandeilo Road in Cross Hands from Cross Hands square to the junction of Meadows Road from August 15 to 18.

Motorists are being asked to take extra care while the works are being carried our to avoid accidents or damage.

A spokeswoman for the council said: "We apologise for any inconvenience. Disruption will be kept to a minimum as much as possible."
