WHEN asked to create your perfect world, most people would include a luxury holiday abroad, an expensive car but not for an ambitious women from Ammanford who is in touching distance at winning her dream world.

Gemma Davies, from Llandybie, entered The Perfect World Project last October along with a million other applicants and has made it to the final 50 to win her perfect world.

The Health and Social Care student stated in her application that her perfect world would be to set up two projects for the community, a riding school for children, young adults and adults with learning disabilities and a rehabilitation home for ex-service men and women.

The competition has seven rounds of application forms, video applications and interviews and the winner gets presented with a black card with a six-figure sum to create their perfect world.

Gemma has made it to the fourth round, which is the online public vote’s stage, and needs everyone behind her.

The 32-year-old said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has taken time to help, support and give me the drive to push me to secure a place and push for the next round.

“I am still in shock I have made it to the final 50 people. I am so happy and I really need people to get behind me so I can achieve this perfect world for the community.

“I have a few friends who are ex-service men and I want to do it for them and I want to bring a centre to Wales as we do not have anything like it in the country”

The mother of 3, who has suffered from fibromyalgia for 11 years, was a community rugby coach for Scarlets before she was diagnosed with brain adnorma after a car accident in 2014.

Gemma added: “The passion and support of my friends has helped me aim to achieve my dream and with the help of the project I hope my dream becomes reality.”
