STUDENTS at a Carmarthenshire school have been celebrating their stunning GCSE results over the weekend.
Pupils at Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth received some fantastic results including Llywelyn Rhys who achieved 12 A*s and one A, Tamzin Phillips had 10 A*s and two As and Chloe Passmore earned eight A*s and four As.
Headteacher Arwyn Thomas said: “Hoffwn longyfarch a diolch i ddisgyblion, rhieni a staff Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth ar ganlyniadau TGAU eleni. Mae’r canlyniadau’n adlewyrchiad o’r bartneriaeth agos rhwng yr ysgol a’r cartref, gwaith caled, dyfalbarhad ac ymroddiad pawb. Edrychwn ymlaen at groesawu rhan fwyaf o ddisgyblion nôl i’r Chweched Dosbarth a dymunwn yn dda i’r disgyblion fydd yn cychwyn cyrsiau coleg neu’n dechrau ar yrfa ym myd gwaith.
“I would like to congratulate and thank the pupils, parents and staff of Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth on the school’s GCSE results. They reflect the excellent partnership between all stakeholders, their hard work, perseverance and commitment. We look forward to welcoming most of our students back to the Sixth Form and wish every success to those that will be embarking on a college course or a new career in the work place.”
