A NEW supermarket will be opening in Fforestfach next month.

Aldi will be opening a branch at Parc Fforestfach, Pontarddulais Road, on Thursday, November 9.

The store will be run by manager Steve Carmody and will have a team of 30 colleagues from the local community.

At the opening of the store, Steve will be joined by Paralympics GB’s silver and bronze medallist Paul Karabardak, who will be cutting the ribbon and giving away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in the queue.

Steve said: “We can’t wait to open the door to the new store in Fforestfach. It’s set to be a special day, and having Paralympics hero Paul Karabardak join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Paul, who competes in table tennis, said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of ParalympicsGB.”

The new store will offer fresh, Welsh meat products  with weekly offers as well as Aldi’s award-winning Specially Selected range, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, and a food to go section at the front of the store.

The Specialbuys will also be available every Thursday and Sunday.

The new store is also calling for charities and food banks in the Fforestfach area to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community. This will allow charities to collect surplus food and perishable products like fruit, vegetables and baked goods each day. To partner with the store, email aldi@neighbourly.com

Aldi will open at Unit 12 and 13, Parc Fforestfach, Pontarddulais Road, at 8am on Thursday, November 9. It will be open 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.
