A DRIVER has been found guilty of careless driving after crashing into a stationary car.

William Rees, 34, of High Street in Tumble, was driving a Hyundai Coupe on the B4370 Sandy Road in Llanelli on May 19.

A BMW was stationary in a queue of traffic on the road, and Rees was alleged to have failed to react in time and crashed in to the BMW.

The court heard that the passenger in the Hyundai sustained slight injuries – including shallow cuts and bruising. Both vehicles were damaged in the crash.

The offence of driving without due care and attention was proved in Rees’ absence and he was found guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on December 20.

He was fined £440 and was ordered to pay £110 in costs. Rees also had five points put on his licence.
