A MAN who is accused of assaulting a woman on Boxing Day - amongst several other domestic abuse charges - will have his case heard at Swansea Crown Court.
Ashley Martin appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court, where he faced seven charges relating to alleged offences in Ammanford between October and December last year.
Martin was charged with two offences of intentional strangulation – the first dated from October and the second on November 21.
The defendant was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage on November 21, where he is alleged to have assaulted the woman, damaged her car and her house doors.

On December 26, Martin was accused of assaulting the woman and damaging doors and clothing belonging to her.
He also faced a charge of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour against the woman between October and December. Martin is alleged to have repeatedly used violence and threats of violence against her, damaged her property, used social media to coerce and upset her, threatened to publish private information, and to have taken control over the clothes she wore and her appearance.
At Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 9, Martin pleaded not guilty to both charges of criminal damage and the assault by beating from December 26. No further pleas were entered.
Martin, 35, of Cwm Road in Waun-Lwyd, Ebbw Vale, will appear at Swansea Crown Court on February 9. He was granted bail until that date.
