THESE defendants have had their cases heard in court recently.

The three defendants were accused of speeding and not identifying a driver alleged to have committed an offence.

Their cases were heard at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 15.

Here’s a round-up of the cases.

BHAVESH GIVA, 49, of Orchard Avenue in Southall, Middlesex, was caught speeding near Cross Hands.

Giva was driving a Suzuki Swift at 35mph on the A476 at Gorslas – a 30mph limit – on June 17.

The defendant pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 15 and was fined £220.

Giva was also ordered to pay £90 in costs and an £88 surcharge, as well as being hit with three points.

SARAH SETTERFIELD, 40, of Pantyffynnon Road in Ammanford, must pay more than £1,000 after not identifying a driver alleged to have committed an offence.

The offence related to the driver of a Nissan Qashqai who was alleged to have been doing 81mph on the M4 between junctions 48 and 49 and June 19.

An offence of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have committed an offence was proved using the single justice procedure at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 15.

Setterfield was fined £660, and must pay a £264 surcharge and £90 in costs. She also had six points put on her licence.

DAVID THOMAS, 64, of Llanboidy, was caught speeding in Carmarthenshire.

Thomas was driving a Ford Focus at 38mph on the A476 at Gorslas on June 17. The speed limit was 30mph.

The offence was proved using the single justice procedure at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 15.

He was fined £220, and was ordered to pay £90 in costs and a surcharge of £88. Thomas also had three points put on his licence.
