THESE six defendants have had their cases heard in court recently.

They were charged with speeding, driving without an MOT, driving with a faulty tyre, and possessing cannabis.

The cases were heard at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.

Here’s a round-up of the cases.

COSTEL-IONUT IANCU, 33, of Stepney Street in Llanelli, must pay more than £700 after driving a car without an MOT and with a faulty tyre.

Iancu was alleged to have been driving a Seat Ibiza on the A483 at Tycroes on June 19.

The car did not have an MOT certificate, and the ply or cord was exposed on the rear offside tyre.

The offences were proved using the single justice procedure at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

He was fined £440, must pay a £176 surcharge and £90 in costs. He also received three penalty points.

JODINE ROWLANDS, 43, of Llannon Road in Llannon, was caught doing 13mph over the speed limit.

Rowlands was accused of driving a Mazda CX-30 at 43mph on the A483 near Ffairfach on June 20. The speed limit was 30mph.

She pleaded guilty, and was fined £292 at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

Rowlands must also pay a £116 surcharge and £90 in costs, and had four points added to her licence.

STEFFAN SPARKES, 23, of Brynlloi Road in Glanaman, admitted being in possession of cannabis.

Sparkes was charged with having the Class B drug in Glanaman on June 11.

He pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 2.

Sparkes must pay an £80 fine, as well as £85 in costs and a £32 surcharge.

GEMMA CANTLON, 40, Alltiago Road in Pontarddulais, must pay £370 after being caught doing 36mph in a 30mph limit.

Cantlon was alleged to have been speeding in Nantycaws on June 20.

She pleaded guilty, and was fined £200 at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

Cantlon was also ordered to pay £90 in costs and an £80 surcharge, as well as having three points added to her licence.

JENNIFER SILVANUS, 41, of Penygraig Road in Ystradowen, admitted speeding in Ystradgynlais.

Silvanus was accused of doing 37mph in the 30mph limit on the A4068 Heol Gleien on June 22.

She pleaded guilty, and was handed three points on her licence at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

Silvanus was fined £71, and must pay a £29 surcharge. She also had three points put on her licence.

MARK WALKER, 60, of Hospital Road in Builth Wells, was caught speeding at Gorslas.

Walker was driving a Volkswagen Touareg at 35mph on the A476 on June 21. The speed limit was 30mph.

He pleaded guilty, and was fined £61 at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

Walker must also pay £90 in costs and a £24 surcharge, and received three points on his licence.
