A MAN was found hiding in a garden shed after he harassed a woman and urinated on her front door before attacking a police officer.

Christopher Evans, 32, of Foelgastell, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to harass a woman at an address in Carmarthen on February 6 when he appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.

Evans also faced charges, among five offences, of criminal damage after being accused of urinating on her front door.

The police were called, and Evans was charged with being found in an enclosed premises – under the Vagrancy Act – after being discovered in a shed.

He was also accused of assaulting an emergency worker, after attacking a police officer.

The court heard that, on the previous day, Evans was alleged to have stolen alcohol worth £13.50 from Co-op in King Street in Carmarthen.

At Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on February 7, Evans pleaded guilty to each offence.

He was sentenced to a total of 18 weeks in prison, which was made up of 12 weeks for assaulting an emergency worker, four weeks for the harassment charge, and two weeks for the shoplifting.

Evans must also pay £100 compensation to the police officer and £13.50 to Co-op.
