THESE Ammanford residents accused of offences against police officers have had their cases heard in court recently.

The defendants were charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker and resisting police officers in the execution of their duties.

The cases were heard at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.

Here’s a round-up of the cases.

RACHEL MORRIS, 50, of Ammanford, has admitted assaulting two police officers.

Morris was charged with two offences of assault by beating on an emergency worker, after it was alleged she assaulted two officers in Ammanford on March 12.

At Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on March 26, she pleaded guilty to both offences.

The case was adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, and Morris will return to court on April 16 for sentence. In the meantime, she was granted bail.

JOEL EVANS, 37, of Teglan Park in Ammanford, has been charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting two more.

Evans was charged with three offences in Burry Port at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on March 27.

It was alleged that Evans assaulted a police officer on March 16 in Bryneithin.

He was also accused of resisting two other police officers in the execution of their duties on that date.

The case was adjourned, and Evans will return to court to enter his pleas on April 9. He was granted bail.
