A Carmarthenshire garden is in the running for a Royal Horticultural Society award.

Aberglasney is urging supporters to cast their vote for the coveted title of RHS ‘Feel Good Garden of the Year’.

The RHS is inviting garden enthusiasts to vote for their favourite RHS Partner Garden through their website until midday on September 27.

Those who vote will be automatically entered into a prize draw for a chance to win tickets to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival in 2025 and a two-night luxury stay near the showgrounds.

Speaking about the competition, Aberglasney’s director of operations, Jim Stribling said: "We know our visitors and members already appreciate a visit to Aberglasney makes them feel good, but it would be fantastic to win this prestigious title of top ‘Feel Good Garden’. We hope we can rely on everyone to vote for us as their favourite RHS Partner Garden."

The RHS Partner Garden of the Year competition is ranked based on the number of votes received against the garden’s visitor numbers from the previous year.

The heartening comments received from voters also aid in determining the winner for each region and the overall winner.

Helen Feary, RHS Partner Garden manager said: "We’re delighted to be running the RHS Partner Garden of the Year competition again in 2024.

"Visiting a garden brings so much joy to so many people and it’s wonderful to be able to give people the chance to vote for their favourite ‘feel good’ garden from among the 220 RHS Partner Gardens.

"The heart-warming comments show us how much these gardens mean to their visitors."

The winners, set to be revealed in December, will receive a special plaque to display on their property and a professional photoshoot of their garden.

Aberglasney is a year-round attraction and is regarded as one of Wales’ premier gardens.

The estate boasts 10 acres containing more than 20 distinctive garden styles, spanning from formal to woodland, exotic, and modern.

The garden also hosts frequent exhibitions and events on the fully restored ground floor of Aberglasney's grade II* listed mansion.

A gift shop and tea rooms are also available for visitors to enjoy.
