Llanelli and District Bowls League

Cwmaman 78 Llanelli Steel 68

Following a series of disappointing defeats, Cwmaman’s bowlers bounced back to winning ways with a hard-fought ten-shot victory against Llanelli Steel on a sweltering Cwmaman Park green.

After failing to raise a team for the previous weekend’s match against Garden Village, Cwm were spoilt for choice and were able to field a full quota of 16 for the clash.

The hosts battled away well on Rinks Two and Four, but skips John Jones and Byron Davies saw their fours beaten by four and five respectively.

It was better news however on the other two rinks.

The best win for the home side came on Dyfed Lewis’ Rink One, where the skip steered his four to a convincing 11-shot win.

Cwm’s other points came on James Davies’ Rink Three, winners by eight.

Cwmaman’s second league win of the season gave them ten points while Steel took four.

Match sponsors for the day were Amos, Cwmaman Garage.
