Dinefwr a'r Fro 2 Whitchurch Saints 5
Following two successive wins Dinefwr were in confident mood to face visiting Whitchurch Saints, but found themselves on the wrong end of things.
Whitchurch proved to be the dominant side early on with accurate and well timed interceptions which disrupted the hosts’ rhythm.
Despite the solid performance of man of the match Danielle Murray in defence and her quick fire attack, the visitors went ahead on 15 minutes and followed up with a quick-fire triple blast to leave the hosts 4-0 down at the break.
The second half saw lifted spirits among the Dinefwr side as they sought to claw their way back.
Despite several well timed interceptions by midfield Cath Lewis and numerous on-target strikes from Amy Brooke's and Danielle Murray, the hosts were thwarted by a sturdy defence and excellent goalkeeping.
Spirits were lifted when a break and strike from coach and player Ria Bowen saw youngster Kira Davies fire in Dinefwr’s first goal, which was all but immediately followed by a second when 13-year-old Ellie Morgan found the net.
But tt was too little too late for the home side as they settled for a 5-2 defeat.
They travel to Caerphilly to take on Sue Nokes on Saturday.
