Llanelli Wanderers U15s 10 Tycroes U15s 40

Tycroes travelled to Llanelli to take on the Wanderers in a last-minute fixture still smarting after last week’ defeat by Amman United and found themselves under early pressure.

However, some good turnover work after a lost scrum inside their own 22 saw full-back Cian Anderson scythe through the Wanderers defence and run in his first converted try of the match.

Tycroes found themselves on the back foot again thanks to some sloppy work in the contact area, but again Anderson got ball in hand and was able to cut through the line to race home for a 14-0 lead.

The visitors rode their luck in the face of some sustained Wanderers pressure, but held out and eventually gained possession.

From an attacking scrum, the ball reached winger Crisaldo Paiste who raced upfield for his first score for the club and 21-0 half-time advantage.

After the turnaround, Tycroes again founbd themselves under pressure and the hosts claimed a deserved, but unconverted, try.

Terrific defensive pressure on the Wanderers try line saw Tycroes add another score when Mathew Quigley pounced on a loose ball to score.

A fine interception saw the Tycroes skipper race in for a touchdown in the corner before he added a second.

Wanderers hit back in between, but Tycroes secured an impressive 40-10 victory.
