CAPEL Hendre’s schoolboy superman Nathanial Harries has enjoyed an incredible year, finishing second in the overall Welsh standings for 2014.

The 13-year-old Ysgol Dyffryn Aman pupils finished in the top three of almost all of the eight events in which he has taken part - despite competing against boys a year his senior.

Harries has enjoyed a stellar rise in the world of Welsh triathlon and his remarkable progress saw him competing at all of the big events during the past year - the only one of his rivals to turn out in all competitions - and securing a place in the Welsh Triathlon squad.

A member of Towy Riders in Camarthen as well as the Carmarthen County swim squad (Nofio Sir Gar), the rising star is expecting to continue his punishing training regime throughout the winter in preparation of next year's events.

Dad Steve said: "With the excellent coaching from Andy Bartlett , support and advice from the other club members at Celtic Tri, Nofio Sir Gar, Towy Riders and Welsh Triathlon, Nathanial has found an elite event in which he hopes to progress.

"He is enjoying every aspect of it."
