Cwmgors hitman Chris Jenkins is to fight Scottish veteran Willie Limond for the British light-welterweight title in Manchester on January 23.
Chmapion Limond has held the title since a split-decision victory over Curtis Woodhouse in the summer, but Jenkins goes into the fight – due to be held at the MEN Arena – with a perfect 16-win fight record, including eight knock-outs.
Manager Paul Boyce said the fight was coming at the perfect time for Rock ‘n’ Roller Jenkins.
"Chris is unbeaten and getting better with every fight,” he said. "We will fine tune things over the next couple of months and be ready because it is the chance of a lifetime.
"We have every respect for Limond," said Boyce.
Coach Ronnie Morris said Jenkins was raring to go and get in the ring with the 35-year-old Scot, who has lost just four times in his 42-fight career.
“Chris is ready and he can’t wait,” said Morris.
