Pantyffynnon Penguins 17 Tumble 12
Pantyffynnon finished the year on a high and go into Christmas at head the table eight points clear of their nearest rivals thanks to a hard-fought win over a strong Tumble side.
But it was the visitors who flew out of the blocks and raced into a 12-0 lead with two well-worked tries out wide.
The Penguins finally got a foothold in the game and two Anthony O'Neil penalties reduced the arrears by the half-time whistle.
The hosts came out much better after the restart and within a matter of minutes Scot Stephens raced onto a cross-field kick to touchdown for a home try.
O'Neil added two further penalties to give the Penguins a little breathing space.
Tumble came hard in the final 10 minutes but some solid defending kept their advances at bay.
The Penguins now go into the new year bristling with confidence as the young side continues to progress alongside some of the club's elder statesmen.
