Llanelli and District Bowls
Cwmaman 74 Tybie 80
Cwmaman Bowls Club might have lost the battle, but they might yet win the war.
Despite falling to defeat to Tybie in their opening league match on Carnival Day, Cwm felt cock-a –hoop after having the luxury of being able to field a full 16-strong team for the first time, after having to cancel recently due to lack of numbers.
They also welcomed a brand new player in Peter Williams.
Looking to the future, the club has also started coaching youngsters from Ysgol y Bedol on Tuesdays, introducing a new generation to the sport.
On an excellent green which played really well, the home side put up a decent fight, particularly on the rinks skipped by James Davies and John Jones. The former’s rink managed to keep the momentum, and ran out convincing winners by 20 shots, while the latter just ran out of steam to lose narrowly.
