IN THE Llanelli & District Snooker League first division, Upper Tumble Blues’ frame-winners in a 6-1 success at Llandybie RFC were Ceri Rees, Alan Sampson (33 break), Ian Tinnuche, Nicky Walters and Chris Bishop — only Andrew Williams stopped the rot.

League leaders Morfa earned a 5-2 win at Cross Hands B, for whom Nigel Harris and Mal Jones were on top, while second-placed New Lodge A. with only Johnny Wilcox and Adrian Dix in the points, lost out 5-2 at Burry Port Legion.

Elsewhere, Jamie Clarke, Anthony Krysa and Kristian Llewellyn edged a 4-3 victory for Snooker World A against Pontyberem Workmens, whose winning trio were Alun Harris, Damien Lonergan and Kevin Sellwood.

Jonny Ball, Mike Footman, Keri Davies and C Griffiths gave Pontarddulais Workmens a 5-2 win at Tycroes RFC A, whose winning duo were Geoff Jones and Matthew Bromham.

The top clash in Division Two ended with a 5-2 win for leaders Great Mountain, Tumble, over Electric B, courtesy of Anthony Stephens, Mark Martin, James Bradley and J Griffiths.

Elsewhere, Garnant Club were aggregate 4-3 winners against bottom-side Snooker World B, courtesy of Lyn Hopkin, Nick Davies and Paul Davies.

Meanwhile Paul Crippin, Paul Garritty, Marc Walters (42 clearance) and Nigel Beynon earned Penygroes RFC a vital 5-2 win against Llanesco.

Reading Room Reds (A Gower 36 break) sealed a fine 6-1 win at Trimsaran A, and Llanelli Cons A grabbed the bragging rights following a 6-1 win against stablemates Cons B.

Division Three leaders Ponthenri Social kept up the good work with a 5-2 success at Bryn B, thanks to Kevin Lewis, Howard Thomas, Robert Regola and S Rees.

Matchroom Whites won 6-1 at Calsonic Rivals whereas Trimsaran B won 5-2 at New Lodge B, for whom Roy Morgan and George Langford struck.

Pont Cons B were 5-2 winners at Upper Tumble Reds after Lee O’Neill, Julian Williams, Darren Butler and Geraint Thomas had won, Reds’ frame-winners were Martin Davies and John Williams.

Elsewhere, Mike Dodd’s 51 break was a highlight in Gorseinon Workmens’ 7-0 thrashing of visiting Cross Hands A. Roy Wilcox, Cliff Wilcox, Jules Wilde, Tudor Lloyd and Mike Davies completed the rout for the Brighton Road side.
