THIS weekend see’s the Festival of the Celts take over Llandovery town centre.

From this Friday, August 12 until Sunday 14, live music will be performed throughout the town.

Friday evening sees Parcel of Rogues and the fantastic young Fin Thomas, from Ogmore, play at The Castle Hotel entertaining the crowds as the festival officially opens.

Saturdays proceedings begin at 11am with Cardigan bay’s fabulously talented The Welsh Guitar Duo and former Emi/Apple records lyricist Glenn Swanborough opening the sessions stage in the town square.

Followed later on by Kelitleef, Celtic buskers Celtic guitarist Ian Charles, Ian Simmin and BBC Horizons star Danielle Lewis before the Castle Hotel and Rugby clubhouse play host to Elle Makes Music, Lost Tuesday Society, Kizzy Crawford and the Irish headliners The WeeBag Band.

Sunday lunch time entertainment begins with Llandeilo trio Old Staffords kicking off the town square live music followed by the jazzebelles and Cardiff’s Bell Blue and her band of merry men.

The Castle Hotel will be hosting the dynamite blues voice of Toriah Fontaine in the afternoon spot on the final day.

The train times will also play a role in the event timings of artists with headliners all playing before the final train departures for Ammanford and Llandrindod destinations.

The well appointed camp sites in Llandovery still have availability, however the bed and breakfast outlets are now full.
